Formal Process Safety Assessment (FPSA) carried out on the first GRAID connection

Always thinking safely

When completing any work to the National Transmission System (NTS) it is a requirement to carry out a Formal Process Safety Assessment on the planned works. As the connection works to allow Project GRAID to access the site pipework is no different to this, the study was completed. The workshop uses ‘guidewords’ to trigger conversations about the effects of the works and how it will impact the NTS and the team that are carrying out the work.

The meeting covered hazards in the operation of the work and any potential hazards in the design that has been proposed. All topics were covered and any actions were taken away to be completed, this will need to be agreed by the group before the study can be concluded. This was a great opportunity to discuss a different aspect of the project and focus on getting another live trial site location completed.
