This vital piece of equipment which is essentially a 10 foot square shipping container will become the nerve centre of the GRAID operation when we are on site. This specially fabricated container houses the control desk and the cable that connects everything eventually to the robot. Other features include anchor points to lock everything down so that once the container is lifted into place everything will be ready to go inside. Then a feed from a local generator or mains supply is all it will require to work.
The container was provided by National Grid and was fabricated by Containers Direct (link) which was a great use of available resources. The cabin was tested recently at the final GRAID dry run ahead of the live trial and everything worked as expected. The only thing we need now is some coat hooks!
